Forged
Vorsprung wheels are fully forged from aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum, using 10,000 tons of pressure to refine the grain structure for unmatched strength and lightness. Unlike inferior cast or flow-formed wheels, our forging process eliminates porosity, creating a dense, ultra-durable microstructure built for both street and track performance.
The result? Stronger, lighter, and more stylish wheels that enhance your vehicle’s handling, durability, and overall aesthetic. Vorsprung forged wheels—where strength meets performance without compromise.

Flow formed
Flow forming has become a popular choice due to its ability to increase the density of the wheel rim through a spinning process similar to vase forming. This method offers a balance between performance and affordability, making it accessible to many racing and track enthusiasts.
However, flow-formed wheels begin as castings using A356 casting-grade aluminum, which still carries some risk of porosity—though significantly reduced compared to fully cast wheels. To compensate for the differences in manufacturing, additional design considerations are made to maximize strength, ensuring the wheel retains as much durability as possible compared to a fully forged alternative.

Cast
The majority of wheels on the market are made using this basic casting method, where molten A356 aluminum is poured into a mold to form the entire wheel. While this is the most cost-effective manufacturing process and sufficient for everyday street use when properly executed, it is far from ideal for high-performance or track environments. The inherent risk of porosity—especially in lower-end cast wheels—creates weak points that can lead to cracking under stress, posing serious safety concerns. Think of it like freezing water in an ice tray—tiny air pockets can get trapped inside, creating weak spots that make the ice more likely to crack under pressure. Similarly, cast wheels lack the structural density and strength of more advanced manufacturing methods, making them an inferior choice for demanding conditions.
