Is your Audi starting to sound like a diesel tractor for those first few seconds every morning? That dreaded 1–3 second rattle on cold start is the calling card of the 3.0T engine, and it’s usually caused by oil draining out of the cylinder heads and timing chain tensioners while the car sits.

Our Oil Check Valves are the essential fix to keep oil where it belongs: at the top of your engine.

The "Silent Start" Solution

On many 3.0T models (especially the B8.5), Audi replaced these valves with blank plastic plugs. Without a functional check valve, oil pressure bleeds off when the engine is off. When you start the car, the hydraulic timing chain tensioners are "empty," causing the chain to slap against the guides until oil pressure builds back up.
