FORGED

Vorsprung wheels are fully forged from aerospace-grade 6061 aluminum using 10,000 tons of pressure to compress and align the grain structure for maximum strength and reduced weight. Unlike cast or flow-formed wheels, our advanced forging process eliminates porosity, creating a dense, ultra-durable structure built for both street and track performance. The result is a stronger, lighter, and more stylish wheel that enhances handling, durability, and overall aesthetics — delivering uncompromising performance without compromise.

FLOW FORMED

Flow forming is popular for increasing rim density through a spinning process similar to vase forming, offering a strong balance between performance and affordability for racing and track enthusiasts. These wheels begin as castings made from A356 casting-grade aluminum, which still carries some risk of porosity—though far less than fully cast wheels. To offset manufacturing differences, additional design reinforcements are incorporated to maximize strength, ensuring the wheel maintains as much durability as possible compared to a fully forged alternative.

CAST

Most wheels on the market are produced using basic casting, where molten A356 aluminum is poured into a mold to form the wheel. While this cost-effective method is suitable for everyday street use when properly executed, it is not ideal for high-performance or track conditions. The inherent risk of porosity—especially in lower-quality cast wheels—can create weak points that lead to cracking under stress. Like trapped air in frozen ice, these internal pockets reduce structural density, making cast wheels less durable and inferior to more advanced manufacturing methods for demanding environments.
