Performance Exhaust FAQ

What's the difference between test pipes and high flow cats?
Test pipes remove the catalytic converters entirely for maximum flow and are sold for off-road and competition use only. High flow cats keep a catalyst in place while still flowing better than the restrictive factory units.

Do I need a tune after installing a performance exhaust part?
A tune that accounts for the change is strongly recommended for test pipes and headers, and is often needed to clear catalyst-efficiency codes after going catless. High flow cats and most downpipe upgrades don't strictly require a tune on their own, but get the most benefit when paired with one.

Will a performance exhaust upgrade trigger a check engine light?
Removing catalytic converters can trigger catalyst-efficiency codes on some ECUs. A tune or O2 spacers can address this. Keeping converters in place, as with our high flow cats, reduces the chance of this.

Which exhaust upgrade should I do first?
If your car is track or off-road only, start with test pipes or headers for maximum flow. If it's a street car, start with high flow cats or a cat-back system to keep a catalyst in place while still improving sound and flow.
