Recently, other manufacturers have released similar catalysts for this platform with no mention of the catalyst's heat tolerance. These catalysts are specifically engineered to withstand 950C (the same as GESI). Whether you choose ours or not, please know that it takes very careful catalyst manufacturing and selection, or known tolerant cats such as these, to survive the heat generated by the EA837 - please don't waste your money on options with no rating disclosed.

Once you move past a basic single pulley setup on the Audi 3.0T, you're asking a lot more from the factory cats, and honestly, they just can’t keep up. We’ve seen it time and time again: stock converters break down under the extra heat and pressure, and when they do, the risk isn’t just poor performance, it’s engine damage.

Seeing continous failures and fear or running catalysts in the 3.0 community, we decided to create something that wouldn't turn cars into raspy, smelly messes. We decided to build something better. Something we’d actually run on our own cars, and trust over the long haul.

Why 200-Cell Metallic Cats? Because Balance Matters.

Everyone loves the sound of a performance exhaust, until the drone and fumes from cheap test pipes make your car feel like a straight-piped lawnmower. That’s why we chose 200-cell metallic catalysts: the same type trusted by top-tier names. We worked closely with the catalyst manufacturer to validate a substrate capable of withstanding extreme thermal and mechanical loads. 400-cell GESI catalysts, though incredibly durable, have failed on the 3.0 platform and restrict flow, which is why we specified a 200-cell substrate. This design provides improved flow characteristics, reduced back pressure, and greater durability under sustained heat cycles. Simply put - we want as little risk of failure as possible.

They strike the right balance: strong enough to hold up to repeated abuse, dense enough to smooth out noise and odor, and efficient enough to maintain flow and support serious power. Too many brands cut corners with cheap 200-cell ceramic cores to boost profits, but that’s not how we work. These are Euro 6 and EPA compliant.

We sourced the highest-quality non-branded metallic cats we could find, not because they were cheap, but because they were the best-performing option we could offer without inflating the price.

Are these emissions legal? Yes — these are Euro 6 and EPA compliant 200-cell metallic catalysts, and we're actively beta testing real-world emissions compliance with customers.

Will a crackle/burble tune or launch control void the warranty? Yes. Catalysts are not designed to withstand ignition-cut crackle/burble tunes or launch control, and use with either voids the warranty. If you run those features, budget for cats as a wear item.

Do these fit my car? Check the vehicle fitment table above — these are built for B8/B8.5 S4/A4, S5/A5, Q5/SQ5, C7/C7.5 A6/A7, and D4 A8, but do not fit C6 A6, 4L Q7, or 4M Q7.

Will I need a tune with these? Not required on their own, but if paired with headers, a ported supercharger, or an overdrive pulley, a tune helps you get the most from the added flow.
