What a Clutch Delete Actually Does

Your factory supercharger clutch sits between the accessory belt pulley and the supercharger's rotor pack, and it's a magnetically-engaged clutch, not a solid connection. That means under enough load or RPM, the pulley and the supercharger can rotate at slightly different speeds. The Vorsprung clutch delete replaces that clutch with a solid billet puck, creating a direct, 1:1 mechanical connection between the pulley and the supercharger. The supercharger now spins exactly with the pulley, every time, with nothing in between to slip, wear, or fail.

Aircraft-Grade 7075 Aluminum

7075 aluminum is the same alloy family used in aerospace structural parts, chosen for its strength-to-weight ratio. It's substantially lighter than the factory clutch assembly it replaces, cutting rotating mass at the front of the supercharger without giving up the strength needed for higher-boost setups.

A clutch delete is a well-known modification on the CREC 3.0T platform, but it isn't a drop-in-and-forget part. A few things to know going in:

• You will need a tune. Deleting the factory clutch changes a behavior the ECU expects to see. On an untuned car, this will set a check engine light. Plan on a supercharger-aware tune from a reputable 3.0T tuner before or immediately after install.
• It's a supercharger-off job. Reaching the clutch means pulling the supercharger unit off the top of the engine. Budget real shop time for this, or a few hours if you're doing it yourself and are comfortable working in there.
• It's fully reversible. This isn't a permanent modification. The factory clutch can go back in later if you ever need it to.
