Vorsprung Artus-Sturm Race Ported Supercharger Service, Audi 3.0T Eaton R1320/TVS1320 (S4/S5/Q5/SQ5/A6/A7/A8/Q7)
Audi 3.0T Race Ported Supercharger Service: Maximum Airflow from the Eaton R1320 (TVS1320)
Maximum airflow porting by AKMSpeed x Vorsprung Autowerk. Our race port is the more aggressive of our two porting profiles. Arthur at AKMSpeed re-profiles the inlet and outlet ports of your Audi 3.0T's Eaton R1320 (TVS1320) supercharger case to move as much air as the case can deliver. On average, customers can expect a total potential gain of 30-50 whp, depending on supporting mods and tuning.
Audi cast those port walls for the assembly line, not the dyno. The street port cleans up most of the restriction. The race port goes back for the rest. It is built for cars that already have the tune, fueling and hardware to use every extra bit of airflow, and if that is your car, a stock-profile blower is the next thing standing between you and your number.
- ✅ Fits the Gen 1 EA837 3.0T: S4, S5, Q5, SQ5, A6, A7, A8 and Q7, with a year-by-year table below. Own a CREC car? Use the CREC race port instead.
- ✅ A more aggressive race-spec port profile: the same AKMSpeed process as our street port, with the port work taken further.
- ✅ About 2 weeks from the day your core arrives: not the month-plus wait some shops quote. Return shipping is included in the price.
- ✅ Fresh oil and a full decontamination wash: every unit is stripped, cleaned of porting debris and refilled with premium-grade supercharger oil before it ships.
- ✅ Optional bearing rebuild (+$100): refresh a high-mileage unit while the case is open.
- ✅ No-wait option: choose "No" under "Sending in your core?" and we supply a pre-ported unit that is ready to ship.
- ✅ Stackable add-ons: throttle body porting and Ultracharger and Superduper porting, $150 each.
Bottom line: a built 3.0T deserves a blower that breathes like one. Race-ported, cleaned and fresh-oiled, back to you in about 2 weeks with return shipping included.

| Your fuel system has headroom for the extra air | You want more boost without turning the rest of the car into a project |
| You are chasing dyno numbers, track times or drag passes | You want to start modestly and go further later |
Leaning toward the street option? The Gen 1 street port does the job for most street cars. Not sure which fits yours? Email your mod list to help@vorsprungautowerk.com.
What a Race Port Changes Inside the Eaton R1320 (TVS1320)
Same blower, same path: air enters the inlet port, gets pushed through the rotors and leaves through the outlet port. The street port smooths that path. The race port takes the port work further, with a more aggressive profile aimed at moving the most air the case can deliver.
More airflow only helps if the rest of the car can use it. A race-ported supercharger moves the bottleneck to your tune, your fuel system, your spark and your throttle body, which is why the next section is a checklist.
What a Race Port Needs From the Rest of Your Car
-
Tune: there is no separate race port tune. Have your tuner build around your actual setup, and tell them about the port and any pulley.
-
Fuel: more air needs more fuel. Check high-pressure fuel pump and injector headroom with your tuner, especially if you run E-blends.
-
Spark: a stronger spark supports the added airflow, and the Zeus ignition coil upgrade kit is made for the EA837.
-
Throttle body: match the opening to the ported inlet with the 84mm billet adapter or the Luft-Strom 84mm kit, or add throttle body porting to the same order.
-
Pulley: a TruDrive crank pulley spins the supercharger faster for more boost. Our crank pulley guide covers the sizes.
The AKMSpeed Race Porting Process
The race port follows the same five steps as our street port. The difference is how far the port work goes in step two.
-
Disassembly and inspection: your supercharger is fully stripped down and the factory oil is drained.
-
Aggressive precision porting: Arthur at AKMSpeed re-profiles the inlet and outlet ports of the R1320 case with a more aggressive race-spec port job, taking the work further than our street port.
-
Decontamination: the case gets a thorough cleaning to remove every metal shaving and bit of debris left by the porting stage.
-
Fluid service: the unit is reassembled and refilled with premium-grade supercharger oil.
-
Optional maintenance: add a full bearing rebuild (+$100) to refresh a high-mileage unit while it is already apart.
Typical Results From a Race Port
The Eaton R1320 responds even better to race-level porting. On average, customers can expect:
-
Boost: about 2 to 3 psi more than an unported supercharger on the same pulley.
-
Power: a total potential gain of 30-50 whp, a step above the street port.
-
The fine print: your numbers depend on your tune, fueling, pulley and supporting mods, and a race port is meant for cars that have them. Treat these as a typical range, not a promise.
How Ordering Works: Core, Rebuild and Finish Options
This listing has three options. Here is what each one does:
-
Sending in your core? Yes: you ship us your supercharger (your "core"), we port it and send it back about 2 weeks after it arrives. This is a mail-in service, so you are responsible for shipping your core to our shop. Return shipping is included in the price.
-
Sending in your core? No: skip the wait. This option supplies a pre-ported unit that is ready for immediate dispatch. Email help@vorsprungautowerk.com with any questions about availability or core exchange before you order.
-
Bearing rebuild? Yes (+$100): a full bearing rebuild while the case is open, a good idea for a high-mileage unit.
-
Color, Factory or Custom (+$50): Factory keeps the stock housing finish. Custom is for buyers who want a different housing appearance after porting.
-
Add-ons (+$150 each): throttle body porting and Ultracharger and Superduper porting are separate listings. Add them to the same order and we perform them together.
Vehicle Fitment
This race port fits the Gen 1 supercharged Audi 3.0T (EA837, Eaton R1320 / TVS1320): the S4 (B8 2010-2012, B8.5 2013-2016), the S5 (B8 Cabriolet 2010-2012, B8.5 2013-2017), the Q5 3.0T (B8.5 2013-2017), the SQ5 (B8.5 2014-2017), the A6 and A7 (C7 2012-2015), the A8 3.0T (D4 2013-2014) and the Q7 3.0T (4L 2011-2015). Not sure your core qualifies? Email your VIN or part number before ordering.

| Audi | A8 (3.0T) | 2013-2014 | D4 | 3.0T V6 Supercharged (Gen 1 EA837, Eaton R1320) |
| Audi | Q7 (3.0T) | 2011-2015 | 4L | 3.0T V6 Supercharged (Gen 1 EA837, Eaton R1320) |
S5 / A5 NOTE: 2010-2012 fitment is the S5 Cabriolet only (the 2008-2012 S5 coupe has the 4.2 V8). The A5 was never sold with the supercharged 3.0T in North America; the European-market B8.5 A5 3.0 TFSI (2012-2016) uses the same EA837 engine, so confirm your engine code before ordering.
NOTE: Have a CREC engine code car (A6 and A7 2016-2018, A8 2015-2018, Q7 2017-2019)? Your core needs extra machine work, so see our CREC race port instead. Cars built near a model-year changeover are the ones to double check: email help@vorsprungautowerk.com with your VIN or part number and we will confirm.
Gen 1 or CREC? Check Before You Order
This listing is for Gen 1 EA837 cars. If your A6, A7, A8 or Q7 is a later model (A6 and A7 2016-2018, A8 2015-2018, Q7 2017-2019), it has the Gen 2 CREC engine and needs the CREC race port instead. Your engine code is printed on the vehicle data sticker, usually in the service booklet and the spare wheel well. Not sure? Email your VIN to help@vorsprungautowerk.com and we will confirm before you ship anything.
Service Underneath While the Supercharger Is Off
Once your supercharger is out, everything that lives underneath it is easy to reach: the thermostat housing, water pump, PCV valve, intake manifold gaskets and injector seals. Doing them now means you pay for that labor once instead of twice. The parts come bundled in our OE Ultimate Under Supercharger Kit. Pick the one for your car: B8 S4 and S5 Cabriolet (2010-2012), B8.5 S4, S5, Q5 and SQ5 (2013 and up) and A8 (2013-2014) or C7 A6, A7 and 4L Q7. 2012 A6 and A7 built before May 2012 need the 2012 C7 kit.

Race Ported Supercharger Service FAQ
What is a race-ported supercharger?
The more aggressive of our two port profiles. It follows the same five-step AKMSpeed process as the street port, but the port work goes further, aimed at the most airflow the Eaton R1320 (TVS1320) case can deliver.
How much power does a race port add?
On average, a total potential gain of 30-50 whp, depending on your supporting mods and tuning. Treat it as a typical range rather than a guarantee, because a race port is only as good as the tune, fueling and hardware behind it.
What is the difference between the race port and the street port?
The race port is a more aggressive port job aimed at maximum airflow, built for cars with supporting fuel and tuning. The street port is our standard option for daily-driven and street-tuned cars. Both take about 2 weeks and include return shipping.
What supporting mods does a race port need?
Plan on a tune, fueling headroom, solid spark and a throttle body that matches the ported inlet. The checklist above has what we recommend, with links, and you can email your mod list to help@vorsprungautowerk.com if you want a second opinion.
Do I need a tune after race porting?
Yes, plan on one. There is no separate "race port" tune, so have your tuner build around your actual setup and tell them about the port and any pulley.
Will a race port change my fuel needs?
Yes, more airflow raises fuel demand. Check your high-pressure fuel pump and injector headroom with your tuner before you ship your core, especially if you run E-blends or flex fuel.
Can I run a race port on my stock pulley?
Yes. A race port raises your boost ceiling without a pulley change, and it pairs well with the TruDrive crank pulley if you want to push further. Our crank pulley guide explains the sizes.
How long does it take, and what does a race port cost?
About 2 weeks from the day your core arrives, with return shipping included. The Gen 1 race port starts at $1,024.99 when you send in your core and $1,574.99 for a pre-ported unit without a core. A bearing rebuild adds $100, the Custom housing finish adds $50, and each porting add-on is $150.
Is the race port right for a daily driver?
A race port is built for maximum airflow. If your car is a daily driver on a mild tune, start with the street port. If you are not sure which fits your build, email your mod list and we will point you the right way.
Is my car Gen 1 or CREC, and will it fit?
This listing covers the Gen 1 cars: S4 (2010-2016), S5 (2010-2017), Q5 3.0T (2013-2017), SQ5 (2014-2017), A6 and A7 (2012-2015), A8 3.0T (2013-2014) and Q7 3.0T (2011-2015). Later A6, A7, A8 and Q7 models carry the Gen 2 CREC engine and belong on the CREC race port listing. Not sure? Email your VIN to help@vorsprungautowerk.com and we will confirm.
What should I do while my supercharger is off the car?
Replace what lives underneath it: the thermostat housing, water pump, PCV valve, intake manifold gaskets and injector seals. Our OE Ultimate Under Supercharger Kit bundles them, with versions for the B8, the B8.5 and the C7 A6, A7 and 4L Q7.
